West Sweden Trails

Sjuhäradsleden

Sjuhäradsleden takes you from Hindås to Mullsjö, a hike of approximately 140 kilometers through a diverse forest landscape. The region of Sjuhärad has a strong hiking tradition in which "knallar", or traveling merchants, walked between the villages of the area selling handcrafted products. The name knalle is believed to derive from the verb knalla, meaning to walk slowly. The trail is marked with orange bands featuring a black silhouette of a knalle. The route passes through several villages and communities where hikers can resupply or find accommodation. There are also numerous shelters and rest areas along the trail. At both ends of the trail, connecting routes are available for those who wish to continue their journey. Have a wonderful trip through Sjuhäradsbygden, and we hope you can knalla along at a pleasant pace!
